Start your campaign

You can only create your campaign in one language at a time. If you’d like your campaign published in more than one language, start by submitting the first language, then the second, etc.

We have automatically detected your language. But we might have been wrong... the language you select will be the language your campaign will be published in.

Your title should sum up what your petition is asking for.

This is the first thing people will see about your petition. Get their attention with a short title that focuses on the change you’d like them to support.

Keep it short, punchy and as specific as possible - no more than six words if possible.

Good titles often start with an action verb like Save, Don't, Stop, Protect, Fund...

Tips: focus on the solution and communicate urgency.

You won't be able to change the target(s) of your petition once you set it to "Published".

Who has power to create the change you want to see?

Put pressure on the right person and force them to respond by being as specific as possible. Is it the European Parliament? The European Council? Heads of State? A company CEO, or your local council?

You might need to do some research to find the right person who can make or influence the decision.

This sentence will be displayed on your campaign's page. If you are the only initiator, please add your name only. If you want to acknowledge other initiators of your campaign, please add their name(s) next to yours.

You won't be able to change your petition text once you set it to 'Published'.

This is what your petition is asking for.
Again, try to keep it short - you want just a few lines to get your key demands across. There is more space below to explain why it is important.

For example : "Falciani is a pioneer of tax justice. The Spanish government must not extradite him to Switzerland."
Or : "We urge you to reject the Bayer-Monsanto merger and prevent the damage caused by these corporations. We also demand full openness about your decision-making processes."

Tips: Identify a solution that the target(s) of the petition can act upon, and try to keep it to just one thing. Don’t call for everything at once.

Write why you care about this issue as if you were explaining it to a friend - keep it short, clear, and simple.

Try to use a combination of stories and facts so you appeal to people's hearts as well as their minds.

If you have been personally affected by this issue, you can put in some of your personal stories.

Petitions with a photo receive six times more signatures than those without one.

Include one that captures the emotion of your story - photos of people or animals work well (but make sure your photo doesn't include graphic violence or sexual content).

Only images of file types bmp, gif, jpg, jpeg, png and of size less than 3MB are accepted. Also, keep in mind that the ideal width and height format is 1200 x 630 pixels.

Keep it short and convincing - the campaign link will be added automatically at the end of your text.

For every person that shares your campaign, around 100 others will see it on average. Multiply that by just a few hundred and that’s a lot of people reading your petition. Write a short text as convincing as possible to appeal to a broad audience, and your campaign will spread and grow rapidly.
